Hello, Naomi Sophia Carter.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"Naomi is fine. Or if you're feeling particularly jazzy, then Naoms or iMoan. I won't complain :]"
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"Newly turned 17. It makes my parents feel old whenever I mention it, so I tend not to, 'cause that's kinda cruel on their behalf."
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"Emilie Nereng? I've actually heard that a few times, which is kinda nice. She's pretty. I've even been told we could pass as twins. Hm. I wonder if she's read Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy..."
» Anything else you wanna tell us before we get started?
"I kissed a girl, and I kinda liked it? But that was a while ago now, and I was confused I guess. I'm currently dating Caleb, who's my best friend and all kinds of awesome. Also, my birthday is July 4th. When I was little, I used to believe that the fireworks were just for me, haha. I felt uber special."

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"Books, mostly of the Sci-Fi origin, though I do take an interest in world events so you may catch me walking through the hallways with my nose in a newspaper from time to time. I'm a bit of a nerd, and I love logical games like chess - you know? Things that get the your mind going? I'm actually a member of the school's Chess Club and have won many tournaments since I joined. People sometimes look at me and wonder why I waste my time with such things, but it's a hobby and I'm really good at it. My parents taught me that it was important to take care of ALL aspects of your body, starting from the top (and yeah, my hair is pretty funky too xD).
I like seashells, nice photography, keychains, oversized sweaters, hot cocoa with marshmallows, multi-colored shoelaces, old fashioned jukeboxes and gumball machines. I could keep listing the many "little" things I love, but that would be long and boring so I won't.
Instead, I'll mention the biggest thing in my life at the moment, and that's dancing. Other than stimulating my brain, I'm quite athletic. I'm a member of the girl's soccer team and I recently signed on for the Cheer Squad, ontop of my committment to Vocal Adrenaline. I'm a natural performer and I've been schooled in dance since I was old enough to walk. I must be good, otherwise I wouldn't have made it into the show-choir, let alone as Lead Female Dancer and Choreographer."
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"Yeah, bullies. The types who, for whatever insane reason, think that they have the right to pick on someone because they're different, or either a) weaker than them b) prettier/not as pretty as them c) fatter/thinner d) confused about their sexuality e) has different interests and beliefs to theirs, etc. It just means that they have issues with themselves that need fixing. I'm pretty calm and laidback as a person, but I absolutely hate it when people stomp all over my opinions continually or purposefully set out to hurt either myself or someone I care about. I may bite my tongue and keep hush in the corner for the most part, but there will come a time when I'll snap - so be warned. Ask Natalie Fieri."
» What are your strengths and weaknesses as a performer?
My stengths, performance-wise, would definitely be my choreography. Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet, you name it, I can do it. I'm strong as a team member in that I'm a fast learner. Throw any kind of idea at me and trust me, I'll have some sort of routine prepared before you know it. I'm also a good teacher - when I help the team out with dancing, I try not to be too firm with them. It's all about loosening up and letting yourself go with the music, so if they're under pressure then it's going to show.
Weaknesses. Hm. Definitely my confidence in my singing ability. I mean, I have a good voice, I'm just nowhere near as strong a vocalist as Natalie. I don't often get solos, though with some encouragement with my team, I've been trying to have more faith in my capabilities.
» I see. Do you have any dreams for the future? While you're in VA and beyond?
"I'd love to dance professionally, alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry, on stage. I'd maybe even love to teach it as a profession. I've been told that I have great potential, so who knows? If I couldn't achieve these goals, I'd love to go on and become a Marine Biologist or something along those lines."
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"We moved from California to Ohio when I was six because of a job offer my mother had taken, and though it was difficult at first - me being shy and all - I soon made a lot of friends. I outgrew my shyness and embraced anyone who crossed my path as the years went on. I've always been a little quirky, but it's one of the things I've been told that most people like about me. I'm laidback and accepting, though at times I can speak without thinking. Very little seems to phase me, but as I mentioned before, I can become emotional at times - anger, sadness, it does come out. However, I can be good at bottling it up for a while. I'm generally a happy, smiley kind of girl and though I can be a bit of a goofball, I'm actually quite smart. People underestimate me.
I'm quite thrifty with money, and even though I don't have to do certain things like get a part-time job, because my parents have tons of cash, I still do it anyway. I like to be my own person, that's why I took the job as a delivery girl for Luigi's ristorante. Not because it was necessary, but because I wanted to. I'm not some pampered little princess - I really pity those types actually. They will leave school and enter the real world with no idea what they're up against, which is just too bad for them."

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"I was born in California, and I have family who still live there so we sometimes go back for a visit. I love it; the weather is great there, plus I love getting to spend time at the beach while I'm there; whether it be a simple walk through the sand in my bare feet, topping up my tan, sailing or playing volleyball. It's great."
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"My parents, Susan and Patrick. My mom works as head of the Physics Department over at the University of Ohio and my father is a Forensic Specialist, working with the police. I'm an only child, which is kinda sad, but my parents and I are close so that's what counts, right?"
» Why Vocal Adrenaline? What do you do there? What do you think of it?
"Because it's the best, and I enjoy it? I'm the female lead in choreography and it's definitely one of the best things about my life. I love being part of a team, and winning. It's a great feeling. Plus, most of my closest relationships were formed as a result of being part of the team. We all have the same goal, and we all take it seriously."
» If you were to sing a solo, what song would you sing?
"Something fun and upbeat, like "Pack Up" by Eliza Doolittle would be great. Or on a mellow note, The Cardigans' "And Then You Kissed Me", or Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn." I have a soft, slightly husky tone to my voice when I sing, so I'd try to find a song which fits it. I'm not the greatest when it comes to singing ballads - I'm a little less Mariah Carey and a lot more Alanis Morrisette. I'm quirky, and my music taste is too."
» Well, VA only accepts people with talent. Why don't you show us what you got?Ever since she got his text about the whole break-up thing, Naomi had been putting off coming over to speak to Caleb, and maybe try to do what best friends do and lure him away from his room to take his mind off things. In fact, she had been avoiding him for the longest time. In her mind, she was too afraid of messing up things with Leigh - which were still not improving even after she had managed to have a heart-to-heart with Caleb, deciding to just be friends. She couldn't blame Leigh really; she must've came across as a heartless bitch for starting something new and exciting with her, only to spend most of the time becoming all angsty over Caleb. It hadn't been intentional, but Naomi knew that she'd have to work to make it up to her. She wasn't naive enough to think that she could just swoop back in there and pretend like there wasn't an awkward atmosphere. That would just be too easy.
Standing outside his bedroom door now, the only thing that worried the blonde was whether or not she had been the cause of Caleb's break-up with Audrey. The way he had spoken of her, made her seem like the perfect girl for him. So, she could only begin to wonder what had cause the split. Raising a hand and knocking on the door, she paused momentarily, half tempted to just walk in like she usually would. But then, this was his house, and for all she knew he might not be decent or he might not want her there. Either way, she was here already. When there was no answer, she sighed.
"Open the door Caleb", she said loudly, holding on to the pizza box she had brought with her. Still, no answer. She tried her best not to smile wearily as she continued in an attempt to keep the subject of her appearance from being related to his untimely troubles. "I left my best Hacky Sack here ages ago, can I have it back?"
