i really love your name. what did you say it was? is there a meaning behind it? i would love to know.
Well, my parents named me Teresa, after Mother Teresa. I love my name, and it really makes me strive hard to be like her, like one of the greatest saints that ever lived. Maybe it might be because of my name that I try my best to live up to her standards, as though hoping not to disappoint her.
when were you born? did you say where? but...where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Marysville, Ohio. I think the place is quite lovely once you got used to it. Of course, not everyone did, but it suits me just fine. I still live here at Marysville, in an apartment downtown. I live on my own, which I think of as a prime chance for me to develop my independence. Plus, I don't stay in the apartment too much anyway. I'm either at the church, or at the orphanage, at the reformatory, or at the academy most of the time.
oh and your parents? what's your relationship with them? what do they do for a living? tell me all about it.
My parents are James and Mary Walters. They've both work as social workers, which is kind of why I chose a vocational profession myself. They inspire me a lot. Considering how old they are, and that they still travel around to help other is very remarkable. I can only hope to achieve what they have. I don't get to talk to them much, mostly because they're often in some faraway place, tending to the less fortunate.
i heard your siblings are hot! do you guys talk much? or is it a love/hate thing. i'm all ears doll.
Oh, you must have heard wrong. I'm an only child. Maybe it was someone else.
so in your free time (if you have any) what do you normally do? is there something you love? something you hate? is there always something so you can't say no to?
Normally, my free time is spent volunteering over at the shelter, or conducting prayer services at the community center. I know, it's always so much work with me. But just seeing the smiles on other people's faces, it brings me joy. Like, a smile that says thank you seems to pay itself more than any amount of money possible. I just love that. Hate? Oh, I don't think I possibly hate anything. But of course, there are things that I look down upon. I don't like hearing children curse. I know the media has been such a bad influence over the kids that every time you see a kid, they're practically screaming profanities like they're the only words they know. I really don't like that. I also don't like people who roll their eyes. If you have an opinion, say it. Don't roll your eyes and pretend like you didn't want me to catch that.
what about your fears? i won't make fun of you, promise. do you have any goals, ambitions?
Fears? Heh, well, I haven't really thought about those. I guess, maybe that I won't be able to make my parents proud. Is that childish? A grown woman like myself still needing the approval of my parents? I don't know. It's just that they've done so much for me and I can't stand the thought of letting them down. Well, definitely. Maybe start up my own foundation to help the less fortunate. But it's still too early to tell.
any deep dark secrets? everyone has one, go on and dish. i won't tell a soul, (maybe)
Um, well, this is kind of embarrassing but...I've never had a boyfriend before. It just never came up, me being busy and working extra hard. I don't think it's a deep secret, but yeah. I'm a bit embarrassed by it.
is that why you were sent to juvie? Oh, what did you do?
Juvie? Oh, no. I go there to give out inspirational talks to the children who have lost their way. I think of them as like lost sheep. They just need to be shown the right direction again.
if you had to describe yourself, what would you say?
Dedicated. I think I got this from my parents. Whatever I set my mind to doing, I make sure I accomplish it. I will stop at nothing til I reach that goal. Which, when you think about it, is such a lost art in today's time. People say that they want to do one thing, but then, after feeling the difficulty in doing it, they just give up. That's not me.
so, what do you hope to achieve during your stay in Jane Addams Academy?
I know I have little background in singing. Most of the things I know were taught to me during church choir. But more than just making the Jane Addams Girls win their glee club competition, I want to make sure that these girls will be saved. Pulled away from the life of crime that they seemed to be always dragged back to. If I can do that, make sure that these kids know how to make proper judgments when situations arise, then I would have done my part.
anything else you want to say or share?
I would just like to say that I am looking forward to meeting the girls and working with them side by side. I can already tell that this will be so memorable.
thanks for your time! and, also, please give me back my watch.
