Hello, Isobel Aria Forbes.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"I think the name Isobel is very pretty. People usually spell it wrong though. My friends call me Izzy. It sounds more spunky and fun like me! Belle is also pretty but a bit too gentle and sweet for my taste. My enemies call me Forbes. Like a last-name basis sort of thing."
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"I am 17 years old. I am a Junior in high school."
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"Nina Dobrev. I think she is very pretty and talented. I take it as a compliment even though I never heard her sing. Maybe I am like her musical twin or something."
» Anything else you wanna tell us before we get started?
"I was born in the spring which is why spring is my favorite season. Everything comes back to life in the spring so maybe that is why I am so lively. I am straight but I am very supportive of gay and bi people."

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"Spring is definately one. It is very beautiful and it is also my birthday. I also love the smell of all the flowers in the spring. Of course my friends are a given. They mean the world to me along with my family. Parties are always fun and a great way to meet people. Chocolate is probably the most amazing thing that has ever been invented. Of course I love my movie nights, especially those sing-along movies are a lot of fun. Our school show choir is a lot of fun. It can be stressful but I do love performing. Plus winning is always something fun. Even though I know it isn't everything it is hard not to like winning."
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"I hate stress. It is an absolute killer. I also hate when deaths occur. Death seems so terrifying and the way it affects the family is just horrible. I hate fakers and bitches. It is like they don't have anything better to do with their lives than bring people down. I also don't appreciate cheating. I believe in fair play. I also hate people who hurt me or my friends. If they mess with my friend they automatically mess with me. I also hate my fears such as snakes, spiders, extreeme heights, needles, and some dolls. I know my fears are random but I have weird yet rational explanations for each one!"
» What are your strengths and weaknesses as a performer?
"My strength is my voice. Of course you have to have a great voice to be in Vocal Adrenaline. My dance moves are pretty good. They could definately improve but I don't believe I am the worse one in there. Most of my weaknesses come within myself. Like my confidence in singing a solo. I also tend to get nervous a lot and want to be perfect. Which causes me to stress out and mess up more often. Also when I look at all those people watching me I usually have an internal panic attack and need to calm myself down. Also my constant comparisons with myself and the others in Vocal Adrenaline doesn't really help these internal issues of mine."
» I see. Do you have any dreams for the future? While you're in VA and beyond?
"I want Vocal Adrenaline to win again. We are supposed to be champions, we aren't champions if we lose. But I do sort of like good competition. It is fun to actually know our opponents have the capabilty to win. After I am done with Vocal Adrenaline I might continue my performing streak. Maybe try something like Broadway."
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"Okay well I am the type of person who gets to know someone before judging them. I know that people aren't always as they seem. Out of my friends I am usually the emotional support. The shoulder to cry on and advice giver. I am the listening ear for them. I am very friendly and try to make sure no one ever feels left out. My best trait is my loyalty. I would always have my friends back. I expect them to protect me the same way. but I know I do have faults. Like my strong grudges. I just don't think it is possible for people to change. If they hurt me once they can't be trusted again with the ability to do it again. I also have an extreemely bad temper. If someone is ever cruel to me I can be a bitch right back to them. I also am a very curious girl. As they say, curiousity killed the cat. I get myself involved in things I shouldn't be involved in. I act upon impulse and don't really think things through thoroughly. Which lands me in detention quite a bit."

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"I was born here in Akron. I really do like it here. It feels like home. My family has a lot of connections. Whenever I go out I always see someone I know. Since I am a people person I always enjoy a nice chat. But I do sort of wish more would happen in this town. But doesn't everyone wish that from where they are from."
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"My mom was one of those teen pregnancies. My dad didn't even care about her. I was the mistake child. Well that's all I know about them. I never met my parents. I was adopted from the time I was born. All I knew was that I wasn't technically born here in Ohio. It wasn't until recently I found out about my adoption. I feel like my whole life was a lie. But it did explain where my talent came from. My parents were horrid performers. So I do have an adoptive older brother named Mike. He is very protective of me even though we are not actually related. He is still like a brother to me and I love him. I couldn't ask for better adopted parents. My biological parents are people who I don't have any interest in and never want to know."
» Why Vocal Adrenaline? What do you do there? What do you think of it?
"Mostly because I attend Carmel I am in Vocal Adrenaline. I do enjoy it though. I do have friends there and it is where I belong. Any Show choir group is fine with me but I felt like my loyalty belonged to Vocal Adrenaline. When it comes to singing I don't get many solos. I am more in the background. But I am perfectly fine with that. Once in a while I might get a solo but I am perfectly fine with where I am right now. I don't need to be the star, I just need to have fun with what I am doing."
» If you were to sing a solo, what song would you sing?
"I barely do any solos so I would choose something that was important to me. Something that described who I am and how I am in life. Something that would compliment my vocals. Probably this song my adoptive mother always used to listen to with me called 'You and Me' by Rosie Thomas"
» Well, VA only accepts people with talent. Why don't you show us what you got?"Izzy stormed into her bedroom angrily and slammed the door behind her. Her eyes were full of tears. She wiped her eyes with her sleeve and took a deep breath trying to calm down. Her parents just told her the truth. The people who she believed were her family her whole life weren't. She was adopted! It made no sense. She certainly resembled them in small ways. But then again she didn't know. How could she have known? She was just surprised to how they kept it a secret for so long.
Why would they feel the need to? Couldn't they just tell her earlier? Save her all the pain? Why would they lie about something like that? It was like her whole life was a lie and she was stupid and gullable enough to believe it. She layed on her back on her bed crying a bit silently. She felt weak and pathetic for crying about it. But it wasn't a pathetic reason, was it? Was she just making a big deal out of nothing? She did tend to do that a lot with her killer temper of hers. She was looking at this the wrong way. Sure it was a lie but they were only trying to protect her.
Right then she got a text message from a friend. It was asking if she could go to a party that night. One with no parental concent. With alcohol and all those bad things. Isobel was usually sort of responsable. But she knew her parents wouldn't let her go. She would have to sneak out and lie about it. But it was only fair. She was only going to lie about one night. they lied to her for their whole lives. It was the only way to make it even in her eyes. She stared at the phone for a minute and texted back agreeing to go to the party."
